Museo delle Conce, the tannery museum

For about a century, until 1962, the city of Bosa was the most important tanning center in the whole Italy. The Museo delle Conce (the tannery museum) dedicated to this important activity is located in the old tannery district known as Sas Conzas, on the left bank of the river Temo. The museum which was established in the building of one of the former tanneries from the 18th century, was opened in 2011. On the two floors of the structure you will discover the history and techniques of leather processing in Bosa. The ground floor hosts the original stone tanks used for washing the leather, whereas the collection of tools and pictures located on the first floor will guide you through the old tanning process.
